Recommended DIY Mountain Bike Itineraries
With your camera and picnic onboard, take one of our bike trail maps and venture through Castle Ward Estate to Temple Water, Dickson's Island (Boat House) and Audleys Castle to enjoy the stunning views over Strangford Lough.
For the more adventurous tackle the rougher tracks over Mountain Wood, not forgetting to stop off at the summit viewpoint where on a clear day you can see right across to the Mountains of Mourne, and Scrabo Tower in Newtownards. OR venture out of Castle Ward Estate via Strangford Avenue and into Strangford Village where you can watch the sailing boats and ferry from the harbour peir.
Recommended DIY Canoe & Kayak Itineraries
With your camera and picnic onboard, paddle from Dickson Island across the sheltered water of Castle Ward Bay keeping an eye out for the friendly Seals as you go! Stop off at far side of bay for a bite to eat, whilst enjoying the stunning views across Strangford Lough and Castle Ward Estate.
